Ram transmission sage continues !!
This is a follow up to my first post on my 2006 rams tranny went at 11,000 miles.
At the dealership a week now. They say the 1st gear clutches are burnt out. Since I do have a ME degree and run a service dept for a machinery mfg.I just had to ask why? They have no idea. I tried to explain this was a instant failure with no slippage or unusual transmission operation before the failure. Dodge (DCC) on the other handsuggest that the repair is correct and told me to wait and see if it happens again. they would note my concerns in their file. I am amazed the neither the dealership nor the MFG want to fix it right. The new wave of warranty issues has become similar to that of health insurance. what do you think my truck would have cost if I had the option to not take the factory warrany and save the associated cost, on the other hand I would have had to pay for this repair but my thought is if i am going to gamble it should be my decision. This is not my first brush with major issues on new purchases. I have lemoned one car, had a transfer case lock up at 18,000 miles while doing 70 on the interstate almost killing me, had the well known 2.7 fail 2 times due to defects in what is now a yard decoration of a 2000 intrepid. That one we had almost every single service done at the dealership and Dodge denide the claim because I could not prove two oil changes from aquick lubethat had closed before the first blown engine.
I love the design of the RAM but the warranty is about worthless. I hope at sometime they learn about customer loyality and satisfaction if the want to regain the market in the future.

Hey Jackman, if they put crap on it originally does it not make sense they would replace broken crap with new crap? It's all about how they can make the most money and get off the cheapest. That's why I quit fighting with them about the coke can driveshaft and decided to have a good one built.
Unfortunately that is why this will be my last Dodge. After 05 (03 really) it seems everything went to he!!. The majority of the posts on this board are complaints. Yes, all manufacturers are going this route but still, I have have more issues with this Dodge than any vehicle I have ever owned and that includes my beat-to-hell '86 Jeep Cherokee with 250,000 miles on it before I traded it - still running - for a computer!

Great post my freind. I do agree with you. I thought since this was the truck of my dreams(always owning mid sized before) It would be the last one I would buy for a while. Especially with a 536 month payment for 7 years. I have no choice now but to grin and bear it untill I get some equity built up to buy my next BOAT, yes boat it means break out another thousand, why are they named dodge, pull your dictonary it will make you laugh.
