Unhappy Feels like someone hitting the brakes.

I have an 05 ram 1500 w/5.7 quad cab and the miles are 198850. The problem is while driving the truck, acts like someone hit the brakes and then it's fine and it does this around 45-55 mph. Just started this today and it gives no code, has anybody else had this problem.

Okay, drove the truck around for awhile this is what is happing. If I stay under 50mph it does not act like someone hit the brakes but as soon as you get over 50mph it acts like you hit the brakes hard and then it's ok from there and does not do it again until you slow down and then speed back up but you stay under 50mph it's ok but you go over 50mph it does it again.

Is it 4 wheel drive? I had a unit bearing fail about a year ago, and once in a while it it would drag (like the brakes were applied) and then with a bang it would release (sounding like a muffled backfire). Took me a while to figure it out, but that's what it was. Better jack up the front end and see if you have any wiggle in the wheels, or grinding noises when spinning them.

No it's 2-wheel drive and I have replaced the front hub assembly before and thats not it. It only does it around 50 to 55mph and not before or after just once but if you come to a stop and then go and reach 50 or 55 it does it again. Going to a transmission shop in the morning. I don't know.

Well, it's going in the shop in the morning. The shop thinks it's either the torque conver or solenoid making it shift hard into overdrive. I will know more here in a few days.

sounds like spark plug/ignition issue to me. when is the last time you had a tune up?
What about a trans filter/fluid change?

Well, the problem was the solenoid so after the fluid and filter change the bill was over 600.00 dollars. Truck is fine now.
