Default 1500 4.7 Hemi overheating while on HWY

I have read a few posts dated back in 2009 about the 4.7 overheating on HWY and not around town. I have a 2004 with 52,000 on it and it just started doing the same thing. It will run almost in teh red on the highway and is normal around town. Has anyone figured out the cause of this; on the older post i read it could be the fan, pump, cap, gasket, thermostat, etc....Has it been determined recently what the exact cause could be???

The 4.7 is not a hemi. And if your gauge is the same as mine you ran it very hot. Not from personal experience but im always reading the 4.7 hates overheats. Figure out your problem before you kill it.

I've found that if it's overheating on the highway, then the hoses are restricted and under load they will actually compress. Replace the upper and lower hose - especially if these are the originals...
