ive replaced;
radiator cap
thermostat
and tried blue devil

now my AC is spits out hot, i tried hooking up Arctic Freeze but the lever whent red, Arctic Freeze instructions recommended not using it if it does that.

I'd like some more info on your problem. I think you are saying that; 1. your truck is overheating, and 2. your a/c blows hot air.
It sounds like your a/c LP side is overcharged. This will create a drag on your engine. Have you noticed reduced performance? I recommend that you first reduce the pressure in your a/c. Release some of the pressure by pressing on the valve under the LP cap. Do a little at a time until your pressure reads in the normal range. R134 is not a cfc and will not harm the ozone. Be sure to wear a heavy glove to protect your hand from freezing.

2 seperate issues. What about a new fan clutch. Did you get all the air out of the cooling system, after the t-stat change? could simply be air. A/C is the condensor fan working? That fan should come on when the a/c compressor engages.

Well I wouldn't start thinking head gasket unless I saw coolant loss and found coolant in the oil - you'd also almost always pop a CEL for a misfire.

Could be as simple as air in the system. Have you tried to burp it yet???

@loflyer2; Thanks, ive noticed some power lost! ill try letting some preassure out of the LP valve (do you know how many psi it should be at?), im not too sure where this valve is, ill google it tho. ill let you know if that worked. Thanks for the tip.

i figured the fan clutch was out of the mix since it doesnt do a full rotation if i try to spin it after driving it a distance, it also dont feel loose at all. ive never seen the condenser fan come on, what triggers it and how would u test it?

The A/C low pressure valve is right on top of the compressor. It has a black cap on it and is same place that you connected to add Artic Freeze. Use one of the gauges that come with auto store 134a systems, they indicate when you have a normal charge. You indicated earlier that your Artic Freeze gauge went to red, just gradually reduce pressure until you get into normal range. Post pictures if you are uncertain and we can help you confirm, you definitley do not want to be messing with wrong valve.

If it's overheating on the highway, the fan clutch won't be in the mix - it isn't needed above 40 mph or so. The A/C problem is probably unrelated - it doesn't dump heat into the engine coolant. My guess would be water pump or 'stat (even though you changed it).

When was the last time you replaced the coolant?
