Hey guys, im new here, i just bought my truck a few weeks ago and when im on grass or a gravel road or any terrain like that, and i put it in reverse, it makes this loud noise, almost like a creeking noise but metal on metal sounding. If anyone could give me some advice that would be great because i still have about 2 months left on the warranty.

Oh and i have a 2005 quad cab 1500 with the 5.7 in it, and it just had the 30,000 mile maintenance done 5k ago

 

Start with the obvious first, pull the differential cover and inspect everything. Then check the brakes and e-brake

 

The differential just got serviced at the 30,000 mile mark, maybe they messed something up?

 

Definitely possible. Certainly sounds like a diff problem to me. I would do as weed suggests and take a look at the diff. Where'd you get it serviced?

 

Agreed, something could have happened at 30,100 for all we know.

 

I bought it from a dodge dealer with 34,000 miles on itand the maintenamce was done there
