Default 08 ram alternator help !!!

We were just offroading my friends 08 ram 1500 with hemi went through a big puddle/mud and then the check guages light came on and now the alternator isnt charging the battery. Is there a fuse somewhere for the alt? I cleaned all the mud out from under the hood. Will take alt off in the morning and get it tested but trying to get it up and running because we work in the morning. Thanks!!!

There should be a fusible link from the battery to the alternator. Maybe it popped.

Nope did ohm test good from mian wire to battery. Pretty sure alt is bad. 399@ dealer 165 @ Auto Zone both take almost week to get it. No one can test it. They dont have the right wiring adapters

They wont test just the Alt. We have to put it back in truck and take them the whole truck so they can run diagnostics. We ordered one at Oreillys will be here tuesday. If that doesnt fix it then will take the new one back put the old one on it and take it to dodge.

Ah. Well, I guess that makes sense from their perspective. Good luck. Will O'Reilly's take it back if that doesn't solve the problem? I suspect not.

Let us know what you find out. If you did an ohm test, did you also do a volt test from the post on the alt to ground?
