Default Reaction times question?

Ok here is the question I read a perfect reaction time is .500 a .523 is good my question is on some of my time slips one says .070 one says .310 which was my best 1/4 mile time is this red lighting the slip does not tell? Is anything under a .500 red lighting? Other RT times .327, .564, .141 could someone give me some advice on these times?

Yes anything under .500 is red lighting. As for advice on your times, I can't help you there (my drag skills SUCK!!).

It depends on the track, sometimes they tell you the reaction time in reference to what a perfect reaction time is on that tree. .500 isn't always a perfect light, on a Sportsman tree a .500 is a perfect light, on a Pro tree a .400 is a perfect light. If the track is putting your reaction time in reference to a perfect light then a .071 is an awesome light, and a -.071 would be a red light. Now if they are putting the reaction time as .000 is when the yellows light then anything quicker then a .400 or .500 is a red light.

in all NHRA classes, a perfect light is .0000 seconds. At local 1/8, 1000 ft, and 1/4 tracks, they should tell you. It's normally either .000, .400, or .500, depending on activation point.

If you want to improve your reaction time STAGE SHALLOW This means role as far forward as you can... this will trip the timmer sooner. If you want a better ET than DEEP.... meaning go just far foward enough to trip that second light... this will give you a running head start before you trip the timmer. In both cases you want to put your foot to the floor and go on the LAST AMBER light... Dont wait for green!
