I would definitely focus on the cylinder the burnt plug came out of. Earlier you stated that the plugs had approx 3k miles on them---near new.

 

Sorry to hear about your woes... check all your manifold bolts...seeing that you over heated that may have loosened them up or broke a couple causing the knocking/ticking sound...common problem w/the 4.7s

 

That comment of a little white smoke still worries me...........

 

Now there's also a P0308 misfire code. After changing the plug and coil it's running somewhat better, but is still terrible. White smoke worried me too, but I haven't seen it since.
I still keep inking things like manifold, but would that cause a misfire?

 

Dislike people who ask for help and then disappear when their sh.t gets sorted out. With that in mind, here's what happened. Bent valve cylinder #8. Valve job, obviously new head gasket and the truck runs beautiful. Still have to sort out some sensors though. But my god...it's crazy nice now. My next RAM, whenever that happens, is got to be a 5.7 tho. 4.7's are a bit funny...can basically destroy themselves (people do need to take care of their stuff though)
