'06 ram 2500 shifting problems
Hi everyone, I've searched for an answer for my problem on here but didn't find one exactly like mine if this question has already been answered and I missed it sorry...anyhow my truck is a '06 4x4 quadcab 2500 has about 150,000 miles on it, when I bought it used a couple years ago it had 90,000 miles one thing it did after I bought it was die while coming to a stop however it started right up and it's only done that one other time.
My main reason for asking is that randomly not very often though it will seem to (buck) if you will when in terrain pulling a hill at road speed... seems to try and shift down premature when I'm not giving it enough gas to go ahead and downshift (it doesn't actually shift though if I give it more gas it'll shift down perfect) and it doesn't do it all the time just every now and then. I've wondered too if I was experiencing an ignition misfire which is why I mentioned the truck quitting while coasting a couple times. The only thing I've done is keep it serviced reguarly (oil changed, greased, check fluids).
Thanks for any help.

Have you ever changed the trans fluid or changed the filters?
That's what I would do if I was you. Sounds like you may be losing some pressure from filter blockage and when going uphill(pressure) doesn't allow it to shift as smooth due to flow, even though pressure can still be there.
There are 2 filters btw.

Thank you dirtydog. No I have not changed anything in regard to the tranny...just make sure it's full and it doesn't ever use any...it's quiet odd it will bump/buck kinda hard or it will be a succession of gentler bumps/bucks until I give it more gas to go ahead and down shift...I hope it as simple as a filter and fluid change. I've always had GM Trucks and gave the Dodge a try and man I like my Ram...Thanks for your insight I appreciate it...
