Default 5.9 magnum lifters

I was wondering if anyone has had problems with lifters in there 5.9 magnum. I have had two trucks a 95 and my 03 that have both had major lifter ticks in both. Mostly will towing or at the top end of a gear as it shifts. Also when it cold it runs awsome for 5 min and then once warm it ticks, Thanks ahead of time for any help.

I've collapsed a lifter or two on mine.. it happens..

I bet a dollar you're not hearing lifters, though.. I bet you're pinging, aka predetonation.. increase your octane fuel, put copper plugs in it, good tune, fix plenum gaskets, run lower rated 'stat, and I bet the rattle goes away..

Let me tell you what I have done so far I have done new cap and rotor new plugs new wires t.-stat just started to stick a couple of days ago open I run chemtool a couple times a month I tryed high octane with no success my truck has 170000 miles on it. Maybe that can help a little more I was going to swap some new lifters in and a plenum gasket but not sure now.

Did you by chance use iridium or platinum plugs? Our trucks seem to appreciate copper and copper only.. mine pinged like a **** with anything else..

Default Update

I finally had a chance to replace my plenum and it was completely screwed, so i replaced it for now with just a gasket untill i get more money. I also checked out the lifters and didn't see anything wrong with them so i put it back together and started it up... The knock was still there, So i had a friend gentle rev it to find what my sound is and i have gotten it down to a main bearing on one of my pistons which is weird to me, But never the less i guess i am going to try polishing the crank and replacing the bearings.

If your truck burns oil fix that first, you are losing pressure.
