Default Rust Stop and Fix

Here are a few pics of the rust starting on my truck. I know that these rams have issues with the wheel wells but what do I do to prevent it. Also how do I stop the rust on the bottom of the bed and fix the paint chip on my door. Let me know how to fix these issues that I have for the pics I uploaded. Any help and advice is much appreciated because I know very little about body work. Also Is getting fender liners and flares helpful or will that cause salt etc... to get trapped and just cause rust also. Thanks for any and all advice.

P.S. I am also posting this wondering if por 15 is my route but I have heard that it wont stop the rust completely.

The rust bubbles blowing out from the rear wheel wells has been the biggest disappointment about this truck. It went from looking nice, to old and beat with just that. Shortly after I saw the rust bubbles forming, I started to notice other old 3rd gen trucks with the same problem in the same spot. I think they made a mistake somewhere. I'm going to take my truck to a body shop for an estimate this fall, but if memory serves me from other trucks, I can get a "new" box from down south for less than the repair costs.

Good luck on preventing it. I'm sure there is a way, but I can't really see how the salt got up in that area.

Thanks for the response. I am wondering if the por 15 is the right way to go and if it goes on clear. If not has anyone used the duplicolor scratch fix on their ram. Let me know what I should do thanks again.

Por15 needs a perfectly clean surface to be applied or else it will peel. It's a mess to work with, stains and NO, it's not clear.
That rust you have on your frame is very typical. Much cleaner than any truck around here in NY. Spray undercaoating on it. it will seal it and stop the rust from continuing especially if you get an ashpalt based undercoat which contains oils. The rubber based stuff will do but chips and peels and needs to be re applicated every season.

The chip on the door just needs touch up paint, preferrably before you see signs of rust. You can clear it with nail polish clear.

My 05 started bubbling very badly around rear fender last summer.makes me sick cause rest of truck is spotless. I used rust stop but it still bubbled through that.really sucks.. wonder what a used box sells for? Proly to expensive to send to a body shop.

POR 15 worked great for my underbody rust, I highly recommend it. It is incredibly tough stuff. Colors are black, silver, gray, and clear.

Hi dirty dog since por 15 needs a clean surface what rust stop product would you recommend. Also for the touch up paint is duplicolor an exact match or is there a better brand. As far as the bed of mine goes I want to keep it from rusting further. Thanks all.
