Default 4.7 Rough Idle at Start-up

Hey Guys, I have a 2007 with the 4.7l with a Superchips 91 octain tune. I don't think it's the tune as it just started to happen but it seems that more frequently, when I start my truck up, the RPMs will jump up to around 2.5-3,000 rmps and fall back down. It jumps up and down a few times and then after it does it maybe 3-8times, it stops doing it and relaxes at a stead RPM.

Does anyone have any thoughts to what could cause this? Should I try and detune my truck and retune it to see if that fixes it?

Thanks,
BWhelan

Well for starters i hope you are using 91 fuel.

Spark plugs, Coils(if you have a multi meter check and see they are all the same volt)
No spliced wires or any thing like that?

Haha, thanks yeah in using 91. I could look into the spark plugs. That's a great place to start.

take the tune off and see how it runs, take it for a spin around the block and see if any CEL's show up...

Then go from there....

Idk about the 4.7 but the Hemi is picky about plugs so dont throw the most expensive in there as they may cause a problem, before you change the plugs i would un tune the truck to see if it changes anything

Haven't had a chance to change the plugs this weekend due to a bachelor party, hangover and holiday cook-outs, so no status updated yet.

Hangovers are no excuse to not turn wrenches!
