I don't believe anyone here has the Mopar intake because there still hasn't been a picture posted.

I'm with you HankL I tried a AEM CAI and did'nt notice a damn thing but a lot of muffled noise comming from the engine compartment. NO mpg or hp improvements. I put the stock air box back on and sent the AEM back!! It's a big money maker for these company's cause like you said if it makes noise then people will buy it, and believe there hype about improvements!! People save your money and go buy a loud exhaust instead. It'll sound a whole lot better and actually give you a few more horses.

I think the main thing you have to look at is the size of the filter. If the CAI has a crappy little cone filter on it that isnt large enough to get the proper flow you would probably restrict the motor more. I have seen a lot of 'homemade' ones on EBAY that have tiny cone filters.

It would be nice to see a pic of the Mopar CAI, and if someone had a cost that would be cool too.

I went to the Mopar site and couldnt locate either. They had a 'performance' exhaust for the trucks but it wasnt for the 4wd and it was a wee bit expensive. LOL.

heres a link, I haven't detailed my engine compartment yet so I'm not inclined to take pictures of a dirty truck engine bay.

HemiBuell, don't be a hater, LOL.......Yes at least SOME of us did install the Mopar CAI and now I have a pic for the "Doubting Thomas" set. $369.00 is a lot of money that I dont expect to recover in fuel economy, but the looks and sound of this setup is awesome. I did a 70 mile fuel run (mostly freeway), dropped the tailgate, and saw numbers as high as 23.4 mpg with an average of 22.1 mpg. On previous runs with the tailgate up, the highest number under similar conditions was 17.3. I'm still in the break-in period on this motor, so I'm crossing my fingers that we can get away from those single digit numbers I was seeing when I first took the truck home. I'm sold on this part even though part of it may be psychological.

How much $$$ did you have to put in your exhaust mod? I'm looking into doing the same pretty soon and was wondering wheather or not it would be worth it to do a dual in-dual out. I have a 4.7L 1500

Jerdog, that looks nice. I guess since its mopar it wont void the warranty or at least they can say it was the CAI. I wonder if this would fit a V6.

I paid 490 for custom made pipes from the cat on back including the flowmaster and the stainless tips. It was about 100 dollars more than going with one in dual out
