After changeing the water pump i put the old belt back on and noticed it was streched so I bought a new one, now the belt ternsioner is chattering soon as i step on the gas at idle and soon as it idles down from comming to a stop. Could the belt to to tight? or what? THX.

the truck is a 2008 3.7L v6 with 45k miles.

I would change the belt tensioner as they are known to self-distruct. Not very expensive, so why take the chance. Just a thought, 45K is kind of early for the water pump to go and with a noisey tensioner, make sure there isn't something else going on.
