Superchips are by far the best tuners available.

I've used them on GMs and some Diesels... they do a phenominal job! you might have to purchase the transmission tune separately but its well worth it!

I highly recommend them.

I plan on picking one up for myself as soon as I can swing the extra few hundred $.

Oh and STAY AWAY FROM JET TUNERS/CHIPS! They are complete garbage!

If you tow on a regular basis you may want to re-gear the truck. That will help with the gear searching. And save wear on the drive train, it doesn't have to work as hard. Re-geared mine about a year ago, I tow an 8k travel trailer. What a huge differance the gears made.

What kind of cost r u talking? Im looking for a new camper but thinking of keeping it below 5500lbs with the expandable I was looking at. And my buddies boat only comes in around 3500lbs.

Re-gearing will help you out a ton, specially if you pair it with a programmer. If you tow on a regular basis (or at least fairly frequent basis) I would definitely go with both for sure.

Mine is a 4x4. Currently we do 1 camping trip a month, 3 times a year i tow my buddies boat to lake ontario, then on the weekends i run the landscape trailer around town. so i would say its more like occasional than frequently. i am goinging to look into the tuner option and keep the gearing on the back burner. i can not swing that cost with the "banker" right now. But i do thank everyone for their input.

You have to use the tuner on the truck before you can get the trans tune though, at least that is what I have read.
