Your effort will be better directed at calling local shops, feeling them out re: your specific issues, and going with your gut. It might not seem clear where you can get competent honest work now, but you will be after talking with a few shops I can guarantee you that.

The way you are describing the issue to us...the dealership service guys are definitely going to make their lunch money for my guess six months min off you

Thank you all again for the advice. I assure you, I may be small, but I am a spitfire. They'll get an earful and then some if they don't listen to me. I will let you know what they come up with, and if I can find an independent shop that will honor my extended warranty, I'll have them check it out too.

Unfortunately, I look NOTHING like your favorite Spitfire
Took the truck in this morning. They said they got 10 different codes from various sensors. They think they are malfunctioning and confusing the computer, so it shuts down. They are doing "software updates" on it. There is no 100% guarantee that this will fix it, but they THINK it will. Have you heard of a rig needing software updates???? Aren't they manufactured with all of the information they need to run properly????

YES updates are a big Deal, just like a new phone that can update a ca/truck can to, they add and take away somethings and fine tune some other things. What codes are you getting, and there being that many if the flash dosent work a new PCM is what you will be looking at.

you have to consider that Dodge made hundreds of thousands of these trucks in various configurations, so you can't take it personally if something goes wrong... it just happens sometimes.

It looks like they were able to replicate the problem (WHICH IS VERY GOOD) and now they are taking steps to fix it.... Go read your extended warranty very carefully and check to see how much it really covers, because sometimes there are limitations on them.....

I hope they are able to fix everything for you ASAP!

I will get a list from them of what was coding when I pick it up this afternoon and post them for you. He said I had all kinds, including "security codes"? It's funny that O'Reilly didn't pick up any codes though. I have the "premium" package for the extended warranty, but I guess what is covered is dependent on how the tech words it. He SAYS he'll work with me on things if this doesn't fix it. But if I end up needing a whole new computer, the $200 deductible will be totally worth it.
