Default RE: ***DIY Transmission Flush***

regarding https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...ion-flush.html

So 20qts of Tranny fluid is all I will need to get most of the 17qts out??

How does the old not mix with the new causing the new to become... well... not new?? A better explanation on how this works would be appreciated. Thanks.

It wont thin the New tranny fluid out enough to make it not worth it.
This is why you put more than you need in there.

The extra couple of qts gets out majority of the old fluid, what little is left won't hurt anything. This proceedure is very close to using a fluid exchange machine, which does the same thing, puts in some new, takes out some old until its cycle is completed. DD proceedure actually sounds better, and gets more of the old fluid out.
