so im buying the intake and adapters tom but some people are saying i will need a 2008 egr valve and some are saying i can just block it off. anyone done this and figured out what to do?

 

ok i basically figured out the answer i will need the 2008 egr valve as it is a different part number. Is there anything i need to be aware of before starting this mod. will i get a CEL after installing the mod? Will i have any problems with my superchips tuner, etc?

 

You shouldnt, I was going to say you need the EGR unless you have a Custom Tunned Programmer.

 

has anyone done the swap and had any install problems or a CEL? The only reason i ask is bc i want to get it put on but wanna make sure i have everything i need. I can get a brand new 08 egr valve cheap but if the 07 egr will work why waste money. I just want the install to go smooth and dont want my truck to be down just bc i didnt get the 08 egr valve. Lastly will my pcm recognize an 08 egr valve since theyre different?

 

I would try with the 07 valve first if it doesn't work just grab the 08. IMO your electronics are setup for the 07 valve, not sure if they would really be that different though.
