Installed new Airaid MXP, loss of power????
If you think it really feels like less, you can try to reinstall the factory intake system and see if your power comes back. That should tell you right there. I personally seem to think that my homemade air tube helps a little in the power department.
Actually this systems snorkel is the same as factory but much larger. Its just open on the top.
Im guessing by snorkel you mean the dirt/dust shield around the filter?
Snorkels are for truck/jeeps that see high water and to keep from ruining the motor it sucks air like a snorkel from the top of the truck/jeep insuring the air is dry.

No I think he is talking about the piece that connects to the wheel well area to bring in cooler air....

If you go look at real Dyno testing for CAI's you can actually see that they actually decrease HP & TQ down low as well as smooth out the power curve, you still peak a little bit higher, but the RPM at which you peak is usually higher...
It's almost like shifting the powerband... So you may actually "feel" less power & torque as a result...

^ I know its a Chevy but I can't find any results for a Dodge Ram....
You can clearly see the difference in the Dyno Graphs...

IZero you are a god lol good facts, i knew a CAI took a little off the top but you insured me it did, when Dodge trucks came out of the factory the have them tunned with parts are on it to get the HP results they do. Only a custom tune will acheive more HP/TRQ out of a CAI
Im going to put the stock system back in. Im not racing this thing so its doing me no good. I like the torquier low end with the stocker. Anybody looking for an Airaid MXP system?
