Default Power steering pump zf/ non zf

I'm having power steering problems, and believe that I need to swap the pump.(2007 1500 4x4, hemi)

I am looking at rockauto, and they offer zf and non zf pumps.
A google search and a search of this forum didn't provide any answers.

Google returned hits for zf branded pumps.
Is ZF a brand?
Does it mean, if I have a zf brand I need to replace with a zf pump?

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the reply.
Do you have any idea how I figure out what kind I have?

Do you think it's safe to assume that it is non ZF if I don't find any markings on the pump that say ZF on them?

I really wish i knew but the only way i would go about it is to call the dealer, or check at a parts store just to see what they ask you about the zf and non zf.

from what I can tell after looking through the vast interwebz....

ZF is a brand-name of power steering pump...

http://www.zf.com/brands/content/en/...s_ZFParts.html

So get in there and look at what brand you have....

Happy Hunting...

Thank you very much.
I will look at the markings to see if I can find a brand.

there should be a sticker on the pump itself.... shouldn't take much effort to find it... bring some brake cleaning spray or a rag and see what you can find.

I could only make out a few characters on the label, and the brake cleaner cleared the writing right off of it.

I took a risk and went with non-zf, as I didn't see zf anywhere.

In case any shadetree mechanics run in to this thread, you need a special tool to remove the pulley from the pump, and an impact wrench to run the tool.
The actual remove/replace of the pump is easy, the pulley removal was more work than I had anticipated.

Thanks for all your help.
