Just detailed '05 Dodge Ram QC!!
Hi all,
I've been browsing this forum for about a month now and decided it's about time to start posting. I just finished detailing my new 2005 Dodge Ram QC. Below is the process used.
1.) Washed with Meguire's Gold Glass car wash
2.) Clayed truck with Mother's clay bar and lube
3.) Applied Klasse All-in-One cleaner/wax via orbital polisher tool (Porter cable 7424)
4.) Applied Klasse SG with microfiber towel. Let sit over night.
5.) Buffed to a deep shine with a clean microfiber towel.
I plan on applying 2-3 more layers of SG and then top with a pure Carnuba wax.
Let me know what you think.

Thanks! I does take a bit more effort to remove the SG than the AIO. I found that misting my microfiber towel with some Acrylic detailing spray helps tremendously.

Wow, that looks good! I'll be honest with you though, I'm far too lazy to put that much work into it. Wash, dry, vaccuum... that's the extent of my "detailing". Looks great though.
Looks great! Wish I had the time for all of that. Maybe with the extended weekend coming up.
HUH?! If it is used properly it won't damage your paint. Now if you drop it on the ground a few times, don't knead it well, etc, yes, you'll get swirl city, but it won't harm the paint any more than the wind blowing over it. It is not the wind that forms and erodes stuff, it is the fine particles carried with it.
I would use that clay bar sparingly. It can damage the paint.

I realize that some of the newer one's aren't as harsh but I still am not going to use it unless it is necessary.

I guess I should quit washing it all together while I still have paint left!! Seriously though, I have used clay bars on all of my cars for many years without harming the paint. I usually use them every 6 months or so. The paint problems I do have are not clay bar related. It is amazing how a little "e-truth" goes a long way.
