I think I made the mistake of cleaning my engine yesterday. I use gunk cleaner and wash it down. Cover the intake and PCM with plastic bags. After rinse and dry it I turn it on and start fine and runs good. Today when I turn on the engine the engine light on and I use my scan it reads code "P1698- No CCD/J1850 Message from TCM/PCM". The gauges work fine and the wires look fine. Should I disconnect the battery plug it back. I hope I didn't mess up my PCM just had that replace 3 years and is costly.
Sounds like you may have got something wet. Buy you some wire dryer and die-electric grease. Pull plugs one at a time spray with wire dryer (dries up the water). then alittle dab of die electric grease. Its time consuming, however it keeps the water out so it doesn't happin again.
Your computer saw something wrong with the cluster, but since it hasnt came back on it is either "fixed" or just waiting to get moved back to the spot it messed up.
