Default Need help with trailer brake

I just got a brand new trailer (storm lightening) and am trying to get the brakes to work with my 2008 Dodge Ram. Never have used this part of the tow package before and am not having any luck. Fuse is good. The controller had power to it, but I'm not sure it is on the correct wire. I using an aftermarket harness and a Primus IQ controller. Also the center top brake light on the trailer doesn't function.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Did your truck come with a 7 pin connector? If so the controller should be plug and play. If not you will have to run a power wire for the trailer brakes to function correctly.

There should be a blue empty plug behind the e-brake pedal, this is the "plug-n-play" for the tow package. You can get a harness for the brake box that will plug directly inline to the factory harness, cleanest and fastest way to ensure it all works. Otherwise it is a hotwire needed, if you have the plug n play i think there is a fuse for it under the hood too.

I have done that. What I have is the wire that triggers the trailer brake is unterminated and coiled up under the instrument panel. I found on Dodge schematics it is supposed to be there. ???? Everything works on the trailer EXCEPT the brakes and the top center stop light.

So then terminate it to the OEM control box... that should fix the problem... might take a whole bunch of dis-assembly though
