Default Cruise not working

I have a 2005 ram 1500 4x4 with 5.7 hemi. My cruise just quit working. If truck is not moving the light will light up on dash but when truck starts moving it goes off and will not set. I had the computer flashed but no go. Please help

Try the "key trick" to see if you have any codes. Turn the key on so all the gauges *& lights illuminate but don't start. Then go one click off, back to on, off, and on again. The odometer will flash any codes stored, then show 'done' when completed...

Mine was acting up awhile ago. It would stay on until I hit the brakes. Then the light would go off and not work. I changed out the brake light switch and viola it fixed it. I don't know if this will help or not, just thought it would be a different idea to try

Mine quit working until I had the speedo properly calibrated. I took it to a dealer for a quick learn and to cal the speedo for the gear change and it wasn't until I had my DRBIII that both were done properly. Then my cruise started working again. Almost seemed like the conflicting inputs that were being received from the speed sensor in the trans and the one from the axle were messing things up.

When mine would not work, it was the wheel sensor in the front left wheel hub

Cowboymffm,

Sorry to hear about your cruise control failure. Is this issue intermittent or consistent? It is hard to determine the cause as there are many electrical components that could be related. I would recommend getting a Dodge dealer to diagnosis the truck as they do have the most up to date diagnostic equipment specifically for Ram products to pinpoint your concern.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like any additional assistance.
