Default low rpm 06 ram 1500 4.7

rpm gauge drops to 200 when stops and drops 500 rpm whan driving, have replaced plug, coils, IAC,Tps, and cleaned the throtle body no luck???

Does the Motor Drop with it or does it seem electrical

seems electrical dropped today to 100 rpm when stopped at red light but engine seemed to be running fine.

I was told to replace the output speed sensor on the tranny any thoughts?? was told it controls the rpm gauge and to check the wire harness for damage, harness looks fine.

no luck replaced both input and output speed sensors still having flutering rpm gauge, doesnt happen all the time????

Do a search for this topic. There is an issue with the gauge cluster. From what I remember, it is about $300 and a steep core charge but it swaps out. I've been delaying this on my 06 as it doesn't really bug me, yet.

Yeah it's a gauge cluster... mine does the same and It stopped annoying me when I discovered that repair costs just too much for such little thing As long as rpm output sensor tells tranny the right rpm, I won't touch a thing
