Have a ram 1500 4.7 removing catalayc converter is it a good idea

not just a bad idea but highly illegal.There are multiple threads on why it's a bad idea just do a search and you'll find them

yup, bad idea. truck is meant to run with them on, besides possible long term damage to your truck, you will lose low end power if you just cut them out. There are ways to get it back but they are not cheap. If you are looking for cheap ways to improve your exhaust, get a magnaflow y pipe, remove the resonator or get a high flow muffler.
