Engine dies when shifted into park

Engine dies when shifted into park
2003, 4.7l, 80k miles
I just had to install. a new battery yesterday. Now whenever I put it into park, the engine seems to completely turn off and shifting back to another gear yields no results. Only solution is to turn the truck off. All electrical still works perfectly after the engine dies/stalls. The parking gear seems to be the only one affected. From searching, it seems it could be caused by a dirty TB and/or low battery. Considering I just got a new battery, what would you guy recommend doing?
