Where does this hose go to?
Hello everyone. I have a 2004 Dodge ram 1500 5.7 2wd. I was underneath doing a oil change today and did a underbody inspection as well. I found this hose underneath running form the engine bay through the tranny tunnel. Does anyone know what this is?
Also between the transmission and fuel tank there is something that maybe the fuel pump ect? Is that correct. There is a fitting which does not have a hose hooked to that either. Pictures are below. I have the service manual if anyone can refer me to a section.

Only real easy way to find out is to trace it back to where it comes from... but in your picture with the red circle on the left side there is another hose that looks just like it on the right... that might be you're other side, but I can't tell from those pictures...
Any codes or check engine light on? I would look in fuel system or emissions sections of the manual. Looks to me like it is a vapor return line to the tank. With the truck running does it have vaccum or vapor coming out?
yeah, you are missing a hose elbow their. It goes to a vaccum canister for your evaporative emissions system. Basically catches the fuel vapor out of the gas tank and pumps it into a charcoal canister. The crazy things the EPA makes us come up with. Best bet is to replace it or plug it.
i have mine plugged, it comes up right near my battery. i was freaking out when i first popped the hood but my dad told me what it is likey to be so i wasnt so freaked out.
