Default Air not blowing...

Ok so I thought I had fixed this but apparently I was wrong. For a while my air would only blow on high and then it started to only occasionally blow on high for a few minutes then it would shut off. I replaced the blower motor under the glove box, turned the truck on in my drive and amazingly it blew on all settings! Thinking I had fixed the issue I started my 2 hour drive back to school. 5 minutes down the road the air kicked off again. I am now pretty much out of ideas. I heard there was a recall on the wiring from the ignition but 3 years ago I had the truck in the shop after someone drilled out my ignition and left the truck on blocks, so I figure they fixed that when it was in the shop but I could be wrong. The only thing I can currently think to do is pull the dash and check the power lines but before I go through that ordeal, does anyone have any better ideas? Thanks for your time.

Try different settings for the air vents, if it happens on all of them you have an electrical problem somewhere... Likely a bad ground somewhere.

If it happens only on certain vent settings then your blend doors might be broken or malfunctioning.

Last thing is check your blower motor, it might be on it's way out, and the brushes that drive the motor might be toast.

I heard there was a recall on the wiring from the ignition switch a while ago, something about the wires getting too hot and the connector failing. Like I said, it blows on all settings but then kicks itself off, could this be a bad blower motor? How easy is that to replace? I replaced the resistors, not the motor.

I've done several where the ignition switch wire got hot AT the switch connector. You may not see evidence until you take off the column shroud and unplug it.

The recall number is C-11 and there was no specific build date listed. Just that there were 285,000 involved.

Its either going to be the resistor block for the blower motor or the ignition switch as said already

Seen a similar issue like this, turned out to be a bad ground to the blower motor. Made up a ground wire, attached it to the blower motor, then to a good ground point under the dash, problem solved.

Thanks guys! In order to find the connection by the ignition I take it I have to take off the shroud around the column? How might I go about doing that? I really did not pay much attention to it earlier today, is there just one screw by the steering wheel tilt lever? Never had to remove the shroud before. And I should be looking for a pink wire correct? If that is not the issue I'm just going to buy a new blower motor since a local shop has a good deal on them today being black Friday. I need to buy oil and do an oil change anyway lol.

Turns out the c-11 recall has already been performed on my truck but now the issue is the connector is having the same issues; tilt the wheel up and the air blows then tilt it down and it shuts off. Pulled everything apart and tried to tighten the connection up but it just doesn't seem to be getting better. Any suggestions on how to tighten this up? I was not able to get the blue wedges to come loose from the plug, any suggestions?
