Default Swapping cam

Hey guys. Sorry if this is a repeated topic but cant seem to find all the answers i am looking for and am kinda nervous also. I am looking to swap my cam over to a comp 268 cam and 6.1 exhaust valve springs and push rods. Thats what i know for sure i have to get so far. Is there anything else besides gaskets and getting it tuned? I have headers, muffler, and cai. Also have superchips on it now. Can i run that once its tuned or no? Also any other suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Cam
Diablo or SCT tuner
(16) 6.1 exh springs
8/8 int/exh 6.1 push rods
cam bolt
crank bolt
head gaskets and bolts
exh gaskets
wide band O2 sensor
TWO oil changes
1 qrt of ATF4
special tool to remove the valve springs and re-install them
special tool to remove the crank damper

A 268 will NOT run off a SC. You will need a base tune from the person you are getting tunes from to get it to start

Go over this thread. Read it several times over and over step by step. Make sure you understand everything

Also are the head gaskets just for good measure? The link u made didn't mention pulling the heads. Not a big deal just wondering.

You can buy that valve spring tool from Jegs or Summit. I forget which. It's around $130. If you have that tool you can leave the heads on and change the springs on the block. This means you do not need head gaskets or exhaust gaskets. This also means you do not have to worry about re-torquing the new head bolts as they is a special 3 stage procedure in doing that anyway. It's not hard. It's just different.

A 268 is a favorite by many users.

Post the link to the ebay item so I can make sure it is the one you can use. You don't normally see them on ebay
