Default Brake light

Hey guys, wasn't sure where to post this. Got a 2002 1500 4x4 with the 5.9L. Got a problem with the driver side rear brake light. I replaced the bulb and it still won't work. A while ago I read that the sockets in the tail light assembly can be bad but can't find the thread now. Is it possible to check the part before ordering a new one and hoping that is the problem?

Please delete this thread, got the problem fixed. Both new bulbs were bad, got another and now it works.

Welcome to the site and thank you for posting your resolution

Sometimes we see guys swear everything is ok just because they bought something new. This goes to show that even new things can be bad.

But to answer your question for you or anyone else, you could have taken a test light or a meter and tested the socket or wires for 12v+

Thanks Weedahoe, thats why I wanted to try another bulb. I checked all the sockets with a meter and they were all ok.
