Default 4.7L Clutch Size

My clutch is on its way out and I need to order a replacement ASAP. Does any one know if I would have an 11" or 12" clutch? Truck is a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with 4.7l motor. Called around town and the Dodge Dealer couldn't tell me what size it was and and O rileys list an 11 or 12 for my truck. I found some great deals on clutches from http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/200...lutch_kit.html

but don't know which one I need.

Thanks for all the help

Go to www.rockauto.comand dial in your truck, drill down to the 4.7 sohc engine. It appears that you can upgrade from a stock 11" to a 12"

There's also an outfit up here (or down there from you) named "South Bend Clutch" South Bend Indiana----no less that will also build a clutch set for you at a reseaonable price. You'd most likely have to call them up so they get the right info for the strength of the build
