Trying to understand how these cut outs work
The link above is a manual one you use wing nuts to open it up.
My question is wouldn't some exhaust gas still go through the straight muffled route rather than all of it going through the angled piece?

Have you ran that cutout vs a true straight pipe? I'm ready to order the 3" single DMH cutout but I still am worried that some of the exhaust will just go out the muffler side of that Y shaped pipe. Is it just as loud as cutting out your muffler?

A cutout is going to be the same as straight pipe but louder in most cases because the cutout would make the exhaust shorter. When the cutout is open, and the exhaust gases will dump out there cutout (thus making it louder)
