Default Question - HVAC Box.

2002 Ram Sport, single temp control. Just got into the hvac box and changed the cores.
During reassembly and check out, I noticed the fresh air/ recirc. damper was in recirc mode with the fan off. When the fan is turned on, no matter what the temp setting is, which other modes are desired (vent/floor/defrost),or the temp of the vehicle/motor, the recirc door goes to full outside air. Turn fan off, damper returns to recirc. This sequence correct? Does the PCM govern the operation?
I had the PCM replaced last year. Programming issue?

The reason it goes to recirc when the fan is off would be keeping outside air out. Thats why when you turn off the fan air doesn't keep blowing out the vents when you're driving. As for the PCM controlling it, no. There is usually a separate control module for things like A/C, restraints, air bags, ect. Even in the recirculate mode it still goes to the outside air?
