Just bought my 2003 ram 1500 4x4 and the air controls didnt work. I took the resistor out ( a bunch of leaves and debris came out) and sautered the piece back together and put it back and now the first 3 speeds work for heat and cold air. But the high speed still doesnt work and the air seems sluggish and blowin some dust. Is there a way to clean it out or something to stop making it so sluggish? And where should I focus my attention on to get high speed working?

Kinda sounds like that truck was involved in a flood or has been sitting for a LONG LONG LONG TIME...

What's the history on it?

 

Try pulling the fan off and cleaning, aka blower motor.

 

That might help too, but the fact that there were "leaves" inside the HVAC ducting isn't a very good sign...

 

I don't know too much of the history. I bought it 2 months ago off a guy on a farm. And is there like a filter for the A/C and Heat? If so maybe I can find that and clean it or replace it.

 

okay well you're going to have to take the dash out to really give the ducts and fan motor a good cleaning...
