2005 Ram 1500 Quad Cab, I am adding a snow plow for the first time. Just got it mounted and when I pick up the plow the front squats more than I like. Can I stiffen the front end by tightening up the torsion bars? How do I do this, is there just a bolt on the end of the bar that needs to be tightened? Can I over-tighten it and stress the bars? Is there a better way to do this? Would weight in the pickup bed help? Would love any advice you may have. Thanks for your time.
Yea you can crank the torsion bars but over time they will settle again.. You could also just put a leveling kit on.. Most of the 2nd gen guys will upgrade their coil springs to help take the extra weight.. A leveling kit might be your best bet.
Yes I realize it is kind of light, but it is only going to be used on 2 driveways and if the snow is really deep I will be using a tractor(old and no cab).
