Default Surging when started cold

In the morning when i start my truck it will start fine but within seconds it will usually stumble and almost stall and then recover. I changed the plugs and it got a lot better but not completely.
Also and possibly unrelated when i start the truck in winter it will begin surging (-20c) and will keep doing this even as it warms up. It won't even respond to the throttle. Once i shut it off and restart it, it is fine
Not huge issues but it would be nice to know if anyone else has these issues.

Try throttle body cleaning. Maybe a Seafoam treatment

Okay well for us ignorant Americans -20 *C is -4 *F...

At that temperature it is very possible a few things could be happening.

1) Coolant is beginning to Freeze-Up which will cause resistance on the water pump, which causes a shudder/stall condition.

Solution here is to install a block heater and plug it in at night on a timer to warm up at least an hour or so before you usually go out to start the truck, that should help.

2) Oil Weight is too Thick - Consider reducing your oil type down if you're using 5W-20 consider going down to a 0W-20 in the winter months.

3) Dirty Throttle Body

Solution: Clean the TB with Throttle Cleaner

4) Dirty Air Filter

Solution: Replace/Clean Air Filter

Those are the most basic causes, specially at those kinds of temperatures...

Do you have a check engine light by the way? If so give us the DTC(s) from it.
