Random beeping:

Hey guy, I found out what makes those random beeps in our vehicles.

If you remember, during the time you purchased you car/truck, the dealer tried to sell you a dealer installed alarm package. While guess what, when you didn't purchase it, all the dealer did was disable, 90% or more were never removed.

Fast forward 5 years, and now batteries used to run the device, can no longer hold a charge long enough. without the car running.

Symptom is when you get in your car, after it has sat for a period of time. Mine seems to be about 12-36 hours (depending on how long you run your car to charge the internal battery.) beeps after the operating system inside the alarm device completes the download of firmware, similar to a reboot.

Good luck having your dealer fix it for free.

I now this isnt a dodge but I had a mustang in the shop with a very similar concern. turned out to be the SRS module causing it when the AirBag light was not funtcioning to warn of a problem. It was kind of a failsafe to warn you of a problem with the Airbag system in the event of an airbag light failure. Of course there was nothing in the manual or our workshop manual about this "beep" The mustang normally had chimes not beeps which is what made it so weird to me!!!

Default Resurrection of this thread after 4 years!

This beeping is still happening and none of you were right about what it was.
Whether the truck is on or off the noise beeps every 40 seconds! From the speakers I’ve heard front and back both sides. Can not hear it from the outside of the truck. It’s not the SXM radio alerts or weather alerts. I have no dummy lights on no messages no alerts. Just changed oil in case it was that. Didn’t change anything. My truck is in perfect performance and it just beeps. Driving, idling, engine running, engine off, keys in, keys out, lights auto on, auto off nothing makes it stop beeping!!! Today it started beeping 3 times instead of one! Someone please help me out I’m gonna go insane! Lol thanks!
