2004 Dodge Ram 5.7 Hemi with 77K miles just started using oil truck has used synthetic oil from day one. No leaks! I have changed the PCV vaulve cleand the throttle body. When I took the throttle body off the intake manifold has a lot of nasty oil inside the manifold. Any Thoughts?

It will use a guart every 1000 miles and this just started this summer. Is it possable that the intake manifold gasket it bad?

 

I don't know about the gasket but my 04 has 118k on it and it uses 1qt in 1000 miles also, but it smokes too. Good luck you think it would be no trouble with that low of miles..

 

Mine started at 50k blows big puff of smoke once in awhile. Now has 60k runs good but 1.5 qts every 1k. Is there a plenum gasket that goes bad?

 

No, no plenum gasket. Have you checked your PCV and breather hoses?
