Well recently got rid of my 2010 Camaro since I have a baby on the way. Instead of going through the trouble with payments, my father decided to pass me down his '04 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT. He has babied this truck since he got it 9 years ago and is still in an amazing condition with only 50,xxx miles! Mods done are chrome handles, chrome fuel door, OEM '07 Ram wheels, back tonneau cover, and air intake. The things that bug me are the stock headlights....I'm soooo used to the bright LEDs from my Camaro that the first mod I want to do is go with brighter lights. Any recommendations? LED? HID? Also, would I need any other parts to make an HID/LED conversion work? How's the install?....Or would and aftermarket headlight be the way to go?

man that was a mean lookin' camaro...

I literally just swapped headlight/foglight bulbs a couple hours ago on my '07 ram, the factory ones were too yellow & dim for my liking. I picked up some of the Sylvania ZXE bulbs. Haven't taken it for a spin yet but I could definitely tell they were whiter & a lot brighter. Might be worth a shot before messing with HID/LED's. Good looking truck, too...I always wondered what the 06-09 wheels would look like on the 02-05's, now I know!

Thanks! When my dad did the wheel swap I loved the look with those wheels. Most new cars are just plug and you're ready to go, but ran into a few pages where some additional modifications had to be done for upgraded headlights to work. Also, read that if the wrong bulbs are placed into the wrong housing, that it could be too bright and blind oncoming traffic....and I don't want that to happen lol. Looking at bulbs now, but before I buy I just want some recommendations.

forgot to welcome you to the forums!

in my old truck I tried the regular SilverStars--wasn't impressed (about the same as stock)

these zxe's are little pricier (got them on sale $55/2pack @ advance) but its plain as day they're brighter. Sylvania claim they're "almost like HID's, but legal."

I figured they're worth a shot since its easier for me to swap bulbs than rig some wiring and ballasts and such.

I like the body-colored bumbers & grill on your truck, not a big chrome fan, but I don't mind it as much on black trucks.

oh and congrats on the baby! Apart from not having a car payment, the extra room and doors on the truck should come in handy!

Do you have a link to where I can order a pair?....Thanks! Yeah definitely, the Camaro was comfortable for "me" but for passengers, the rear seats were tight and a pain to get out of lol.

I picked mine up at the local Advance Auto Parts, but you might be able to find them cheaper online, I didn't check.

I know how the Camaros are lol my wife's aunt has one like yours and I used to have an '88 Iroc. Back seats in them are for short people and appearances only!
