could be bad clock spring too... sometimes when they fail some circuits get damaged...

Also if you are going to do ANY work near the air bag system fully discharge and remove the battery from the truck...

Did it to me again after work tonight. (at 9pm, sucks for the houses behind!) As soon as my key went in the ignition horn came on for 20 seconds. Wiggled wires and knocked on horn but it stopped on its own.
Is the clock spring deep in the column? Like do I need a lock plate removal tool?
