Default Please help!! Maybe a/c?

Start off I have a 2007 dodge ram 1500 4door 4x4 with the hemi. Back in around July I noticed my A/c wasn't getting very cold. Felt like room temp air, then I noticed a smell coming from air vents, almost like a burned wire but not as strong (which still smells that way). Shortly after that I noticed it blows cold on passenger side vents but not driver side, No I don't have dual climate controls, finally I noticed it sounds like under the dash possibly what sounds like either A: air bleeding off when you give it gas and when you shut truck off or B: the flywheel rubbing. ( Sounds slowly dies about 2-5 seconds after truck dies). Please someone give me some input.

initial guess is that you have a broken/stuck vent door in your airbox, or a clogged evaporator. I would guess an airbox door before the evaporator...

air blowing one temp on one side and not the other is an issue of the directional or blend doors not working properly. MANY threads on this.

Im not really understanding the second part of your issue. Sorry

V8----
Does it make the "noise" every time you shut off the truck, or only when the a/c or defroster has been used.

I can only guess that the hiss noise is the high pressure refrigerant bleeding down at the metering device in the HVAC box, and I would encourage looking to make sure the condenser fans runs whenever the A/C//defrost is energized. If not a new fan motor for the condenser fan may be in order------the smaller radiator looking coil to the right of the radiator.

Yes,

Whenever the compressor is running, the condenser (f) :O) "can" is supposed to be running. If it isn't I would avoid running the a/c if possible until you get it repaired as it can shorten the life of your a/c compressor-----sometimes dramatically.

checking the vent doors is a pain, but relitively easy if you have ever worked on a vehicle before. here are a couple of pics of your airbox. The blend doors controled by the motor in the center of the box in the second picture. There are two doors, one for pass. on for driver. In vehicles without dual climate control the doors are connected and function together. It is not unusual for the plastic connecting the two doors to break, causing the symptoms you are describing. Best of luck.
