Default Keyless Remote Help

The remote for my 03 1500 QCab works fine to unlock the doors but when I push the button to lock it the horn beep sounds weak. When the temp outside is cold the horn beep is barely heard at all but fine once the weather warms up. Any ideas what could cause this problem?

Sounds like your battery cold weather weakens them might want to have a load test done on it depending on how old it is

Nothing to do with the fob. Batteries don't like cold weather. I just replaced the OEM battery in my '03 after 9+ years. It was showing signs of failure, even though it worked well most of the time.

I just replaced the OEM battery in my '04 as it started to get cold this winter. It worked fine, although I did noticed a few time it wouldn't unlock/lock on the 1st try and the remote start wasn't working 100% of the time. Swapped it more for piece of mind after running the battery for over 8 years...replacing on my time was a lot easier than swapping it when it chose to die.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to rule out other possibilities before I replaced the battery.
