I just bought a new Dodge 05 3.7 V6. Does anyone know what is the Auto tranny they put in it and who makes it?

NDW13, Thanks for the info... Does anyone know if a Dodge 45RFE Auto transmission controls the shifting by computer or internally. Example does the computer tell the tranny to engage 4th gear and is there a way to interupt that signal to the 4th gear valve?

 

you know, i've always wondered this. someone told me about a torque management wire...which is a wire that kinda slows your car down while shifting gears...and they say removing the wire makes your engine keep pulling, even through gear shifts...(basically a shift kit...am i right?).

look into that and make a post and let me know =)

 

sorry man but we as 3.7 owners have a smaller version of that trans and its a 42RLE wouldent wont some one to buy a after market part thats usless

hey man, when I went to the dodge dealership about my possible tranny problem, he told me the computer handles the shifting and all that stuff for my truck which is an 06' ram 1500 3.7 v6, I believe he said it was the same for 2002 - current trucks so I would say your 05' is controled by computer...
