Default Power steering might be bad

so i am pretty familiar with trucks, as of right now when i drive the truck it's easy to turn, but when i slow down it takes every amount of muscle to turn the truck and i think that it could be a couple of things, it could be the power steering pump or the steering gear, let me know what you think it could be so i ain't sitting here blowing cash and it still not get fixed.

Have you checked the power steering fluid level?

Mine did something similar to this a few years after I bought it. I flushed the power steering system and put fresh PS fluid. Cleared my problems up. I'm due for the same treatment again this summer.

So the power steering fluid is still sitting at max, so it's got plenty of fluid, but I remember smelling like a burning smell so seriously thinking the best suggestion might be to just replace the power steering pump.
