Post removale of the chrome off a rim

2002 Dodge ram 1500, 5.9 L with 17" steel rims (chrome covers), that require sandblasting. Can I get the Chrome covers off?

Nice answer for a new poster, Izero.
I, myself do not know how or if that chrome comes off. The chrome should cover all of the steel wheel, so why are you contemplating sandblasting them?

If there the same as the 17's on my 03 1500 st then no you cant remove the chrome off of them. Do you need to have them refinished if so look around or ask a local body shop they can usually recommend a place the re chromes parts and usually cheaper than buyng or doing it yourself.

do you mean the little cover that goes over the center of the wheel? yeah... that comes off... your post is not that clear what you really mean, are you talking about removal of the cover or getting the chrome itself off of it?

I am going to assume he is talking about the plastic chrome cover that goes over the wheels... Best way to find out is to get a little dirty... takes well under 15 minutes to get it jacked up and wheel off...
