04 ram 1500 hemi supercharger ?
I have an 04 ram 1500 hemi quad cab 4x4 and im going to put a procharger supercharger on it. Right now I have a chip, exhaust, and a vararam CAI. I know I will either to rebuild the tranny or get a new one so im aware of that. I am just wondering if there is anything aftermarket wise on my motor I should do before installing the supercharger? I dont want to blow my motor, or screw it up and end up costing a crap ton of $$$$. ANY help or advice appreciated.
I know, I will have to buy another intake but dont know which one yet.
I believe the ProCharger kit will provide one that works with their kit. But also long as you don't run too much boost the engine can handle the F/I. However if you want to do it all right the first time you'll have to upgrade a lot of the internals of the engine and beef up the tranny as well. ATS now makes a tranny for guys who are boosting the 5.7L

all of them... do a complete build, pistons, rods, bearings.... maybe even go .020 over and drop the compression to 8.5:1 or so.... just a thought...
I'd also suggest doing Cams, and going with Titanium Valves, Springs, and Retainers, and upgrading the pushrods and rockers.....
You'd prolly make things easier by just going with a pre-built crate motor, but that's your call
But your starting point should be listing your goals.... do you want a drag strip monster, or a street/strip truck...?
What are your plans/goals for power and torque? As that will dictate what you should do.

Yea you're not gonna get 850 whp from the 5.7 in stock form or even heavily modded form (Not from what I've seen done to these trucks anyway). It would be easier and cheaper to swap out the engine with the Viper V10 from the SRT 10 Ram and then go from there.
My Serious Advice:
Sell your truck and purchase a Cummins Turbo Diesel... then you'll be able to get somewhere remotely close to those numbers.... But it will still require at least $10,000 - $15,000 in additional parts on top of the purchase of the truck.
Good Luck!
