Cool Do i need shocks or struts front

I have a 2007 Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab Hemi 4X4. I feel a loss of control like the truck is floating swaying etc . I figure a set of Bilsteins HD. I call a local Pep Boys and the guy is telling me I have struts. So? Can't I just change the shocks front inside the strut? and Rear Shocks? No lift kit installed standard OEM rake. What do you guys recommend? Thank you.
Mike...... 72,000 miles on the OEMs

They are right, struts in the front. Shocks in the rear. The strut is the shock absorber. you can get then with or without the spring installed. Good luck. I had mine done last summer.

Look into Bilstein 5100s. Best bang for the buck

Its also best to change all 4 corners too, not just the struts.

Default Did all 4 corners

I replaced all 4 corners. I am in awe of the "regained" height of my truck, man I just knew it didn't look right at 72,000 miles. The ride is so good so truck like and yet very comfortable feeling, I can't believe the feel. Glad to have kissed goodbye that 1985 Lincoln town car feel.........worth the money spent on this maintenence. At 65,000 I did the spark plugs, rotors, shoes, transfer cases, differential f/r and transmission fluids. I hope to run this truck, not to mention I like it, for another 100,000 miles. Back in the good ol days I was one of those guys who traded in PERFECTLY GOOD TRUCKS every four years..........I like the look of this Dodge and except for the "things I feel I have to do" I am well pleased. Regards, Mike in NJ
