need some help brand new truck shakes
New update, Dealership rotated the tires and re ballanced them. I took it for a ride with no luck same problem, this time I took a mechanic from the dealership with me and he said he believes its the rear end of the truck. He said Chrysler would probably replace the whole rear end with a new one, but they will not do anything befor the break in period of the truck is over to make sure it is not something that will work itself out. So I have to bring the truck back at 1000 miles. This sucks since I am purchasing this thing. I will definatly get my lemon law file going in my filing cabnet with names times and dates. What a beautifull truck I hope she gets fixed!
That is what it kind of feels like is a drive shaft problem because the shaking starts under the seats and then you can feel it in the wheel at higher speeds also. I took it right back to them and told them to fix the problem or I was going straight to chrysler because I feel driving a vibrating truck could be harming other parts. They took my keys and said they would call me monday and started the "it may be a tire issue and you must go thru the tire warranty if so, but we will take a look". Why dont you get anything done without getting nasty with dealerships first. I hate buying a new vehicle!!!! Thanks for the heads up!
Dealer could not find a problem with why the truck shakes. Said it is just a characteristic of the truck riding rough with the 20" wheels. He said he has another one on the lot that does the exact same thing with 12 miles on it. He told me to come and test drive it to see the similarity. He said they put a new drive shaft in the truck and reballanced the wheels and it still doing the same thing. So give it some time to break in and the problem should go away. Or I could leave it there a couple more days which I cant do. I have my Department of Motor Vehicles complaint form on hand as soon as I contact corporate offices!
BS!!!!
take the truck to a good drive line shop and have them take a gander.
I have come across more than once where the stock ballanceing of the drive shafts are VERY shotty

Get a lawyer and contact Chrysler. I know it sounds drastic, but the dealership will BS you as long as they can because it has no effect on them. I was getting the run around about my 7/70 warranty, because I bought it with almost 1000 miles on it the dealer said it was used and that I couldnt get the 7/70 warranty. I told them they were full of it, and I contacted chrysler. I had to take the email from Chrysler saying that my VIN was very well able to have the 7/70 warranty transferred. Then the sales manager acted like he had never heard of them transferring the warranty. Of course when I got into paying my little 150.00 the lady in the receivables department said that they had done it all the time but they had a new sales manager and he didnt know everything. Then they tried to screw me out of my tires, that they had no problem agreeing to give me my tires and then it was like pulling sharks teeth to get them back.
took the vehicle to Bell Tire a Goodyear franchise, for those not familiar. The came up with 4 bent rims, and that was after they discoverd that the dealership counterballenced 3 of my tires to try to correct the bad rim. Now the dealer is replacing all tires and rims (I hope because they finaly gave me a rent a car). Because befor i was in a tire wheel issue between Chrysler and Goodyear so I hope one bites the bullet so i can have a new truck again. 500 miles and the dealership back down like a little coward because they gave me a new drive shaft for the problem which was a misdiagnosis so they had to eat the price of that from chrysler. Now they dont want to give me 4 new rims. Instead they want to change out 4 rims from another Ram on the lot (so they dont have to worry about warranty making them pay 550$ a rim which is the mark up if Chrysler does not accept the wheels are manufacture damaged. What a joke...plus they dented both doors and tried to pull a fast one on me by fixing the one side and leaving over spray on a factory paint job and leaving the dent on the other. Now they are fixing that and I have a report to the Department of Motor Vehicles complaint I am Faxing tomorrow stating all of this sweeping under the rug bull **** from the dealer and not giving me another truck. The sales man actualy had the ***** to state that he cant give me another 05 like mine because they are all gone! The only thing all gone is him because I am going to exploit him once this all settles. I will give all of you his email and his place of work.....just wait. hahhahhahaha I will get whats comming to me and I wont quit untillllll! 600 miles 2005, in the shop 5 times. LEMON LAW
well it is settled The Dodge dealership replaced all four rims and tires with those from another truck on the lot. They did not want to warranty the wheels thru Chrysler in case they came back not bad and then they would have to foot the bill personaly for the wheels. Same with Goodyear, Goodyear told me the only way they would warranty my tires is if I purchased brand new ones with money out of my pocket and then they would test my old tires and if they came back bad then they would refund my money. What kind of B.S. is a warranty now a days. My truck drives awsome now with no shimmys of shakes, I wish they would have done this early on befor they tried counter balancing my tires, then replaced the driveshaft, then told me it was normal, dented and repainted my truck during service and tried to cover it up with lies. I had to file a DMV complaint, threatin to sue there asses with my lawyer. Contacted Chrysler 2 times (which they told me it was a customer dealership issue and they could do nothing not even contact the dealership) I had my truck in the shop 5 times between two dodge dealerships and a Bell Tire and a Goodyear Store, Had a dent man pop out two dents (one on each door where they opened the doors on a hoist and they hit, which they deny) and have overspray from some coverup paint job buffed off (which they deny)! Hey Chrysler is top knotch!!!!! I love my truck now that it rides great, but no more Chryslers for me thanks. I am purchasing this truck and who knows what I am instore for down the road!!!!! KEEP ALL YOUR PAPERWORK ON YOUR VEHICLES SERVICE FOR SURE.
Great sight, thanks guys

If you financed it, some (if not all) states have a 3 day recind period. You could have used this as leverage to get the dealer to fix it as part of the delivery process or tell them you changed your mind (as long as you had not put more than 200 miles on it).
Just a thought!

Forget the shake problems!!!! my truck just got stolen last night out of my own drive way! It had under 1500 miles on it, and after all that dealership trouble to get it fixed. It is now gone
