Anyone have a sound clip from an exhaust on their V-6 ?? I was considering the 50 series ,because I dont want the very loud sound -just looking for a nice rumble.

I do not have a sound clip. But I will let you know my experience. I have bought many 2 chamber Flowmaster mufflers for many different trucks. They have all sounded great. I will continue to buy Flowmasters... I just bought a new 2005 Dodge 1500 3.7 v6 and installed a Flowmaster 2 chamber 40 series muffler on it. The truck sounds great going slow. Good rumble. BUT when you hit the gas and the truck hits 3000 rpm it gets tooo loud. At about 3800 rpm the truck quiets down to a more pleasing rumble. All the other trucks had restrictive exhaust pipes at 2 to 2.5 inches. The new Dodge has a stock 3 inch exhaust. I think this is the reason it is louder than the others. On all trucks I kept the same pipes and just added a new muffler. I am planning on replacing it with a Hushpower II T409 or 30 series or 50 series. As soon as I find a great price on one. Does anyone know where I can get the best price on one? You can view the different flowmasters at http://www.flowmastermufflers.com and you can hear the sound clips. They do not have one specifically for our truck. I found a local Muffler shop that will install a 50 series for $160... Good Luck...

Live, question. Did you cut the OEM pipe to install the muffler? I see that they have clamps attaching the OEM muffler to he pipes. Wouldn't have been easier to just remove the old one and replace it with they flowmaster's? Thanks.

eltupac, No. I did not cut the stock pipes... I would not allow the muffler shop to cut the stock muffler either. I saved the stock muffler just incase it is needed when I sell the truck. The Flowmaster is clamped on just like the stock muffler was. I can remove it and replace the stock one any time I want to. I took a couple of pictures. Hope this helps.

hey man,

i have tons of vids of my exhaust. i first had a 40series on my truck. was a little goudy, but i lived w/ it, and kinda liked it. i just hated when it was full throttle...

then i threw those headers in my truck, then the exhaust sounded like it had two extra cylinders on it...THEN when i was at full throttle, it was virtually silent cause there was no back pressure at all...

so, i then threw a 50series in there, and it sounds awesome, and gave me a bunch of lowend torque...more of a difference in torque than i noticed when installing the headers.

my youtube name is "derricksmash". check out my vids...the descriptions say what's going on. the best one for you would be the one at byron's raceway where i'm paired up with a mustang - cause i'm running it all out and i was equipped with the headers at that time, and my 50 series.

edit: and oh yea, to answer your question. get a flowmaster. **** magnaflow.
